Your next opportunity is rarely far away
…the question is — which conversation haven't you had yet?
Kerryn Powell — Conversation & Connection Strategist | Speaker & Facilitator | Melbourne
Most people don't miss opportunities, hidden in conversation, because they aren't capable enough.
They miss them because they don't yet see they're there.
Or they sense something — a connection, a possibility, an opening — but have no idea how to reach toward it. How to start that conversation. How to hear what's being said underneath the surface.
This is more common than you think. And it's not a flaw.
Nobody teaches us how to have conversations that go somewhere meaningful. How to ask the question that opens a door. How to hear the unspoken thing that changes everything.
That's exactly where I work.
I create spaces where next level conversations:
break silos,
build trust
unlock the opportunities already around you — the ones you couldn't quite see, reach, or hear yet.
The barriers are rarely about capability.
Some are personal. Some are cultural. Some are shaped by how work, leadership and "networking" have traditionally been done.
When conversations stay surface-level, opportunities are harder to see. Confidence wavers. Impact feels out of reach. Not because you lack ideas or intent — but because the right conversation hasn't happened yet.
I understand this because I've lived it. I've spent years creating connection and belonging for others — and I've had to learn, sometimes the hard way, how much I need it too. That's not a footnote to this work. It's the reason for it.
Often, the shift isn’t in adding more. It’s in seeing what’s already there differently — and that changes what becomes possible.
The right conversations
After more than a decade in rooms with thousands of people, I've watched what happens when the right conversation finally occurs — when someone finds their voice, makes the connection they needed, or realises the opportunity was there all along.
That’s why I create spaces for conversations that shift perspective, build trust, and unlock what’s already within reach.
I don’t rush or prescribe.
I listen deeply.
I ask the questions that open new pathways.
And I help you move forward — with clarity and intention, creating space to explore new perspectives, excite fresh thinking and expand what feels possible — through conversation.
What changes when conversations change?
Clarity replaces confusion.
Confidence replaces hesitation.
Trust replaces guardedness.
People see more clearly.
And conversations begin to lead somewhere meaningful — towards aligned opportunities, stronger partnerships, clearer direction, and measurable progress.
If you sense there’s more opportunity around you than you’re currently accessing — you’re probably right.
The right conversation often reveals it.
This is the way forward for :
Changemakers
Ready to contribute at a higher level — improve a business, a career, or a community — and ensure their voice has influence where it matters.
Problem Solvers
Who want to align with the right people and opportunities, to help others navigate uncertainty, make decisions, and solve real-world problems, with people at the centre.
Community Builders
With a vision to bring people together in a space of belonging, trust and shared purpose — teams, clients, candidates, partners — and wanting the structure to do it well.
Team Leaders
Who want to break down silos, strengthen communication and build real trust across diverse perspectives.
Why work with me?
I'm Kerryn Powell — and I see what others often miss.
In a room full of people, I don't see a crowd. I see a constantly shifting pattern of potential conversations, unexpected connections, and possibilities that haven't been named yet.
That's not a professional framework I developed. It's how I've always moved through life. I've sat with people who felt invisible in rooms full of opportunity. I know that feeling from both sides.
With diverse work experience and more than a decade witnessing thousands of facilitated conversations, I've come to understand something that shapes everything I do: a catalyst doesn't force a reaction. It changes the conditions so the right one can occur naturally.
That's what I do for people and organisations. I don't rush or prescribe. I listen deeply, ask the questions that open new pathways, and help you see what's already within reach.
When the right conversation happens — something shifts. People see more clearly. They show up differently. And the opportunities that were always there become visible.
If you’re ready to approach conversations differently — let’s talk.
No pressure, just a conversation.

UPCOMING OPPORTUNITIES TO HAVE CONVERSATIONS THAT CONNECT
Grateful to have connected and worked with people who understand the value of conversations and connections. Here are just a few:
Questions people often ask
-
Yes — and honestly, I have changed so many people’s approach to networking . Networking is a life skill that everyone needs. Most people who find networking draining or awkward aren't doing anything wrong. They've just never connected the ability they already have . I work with them to be more aware and able to have conversations that feel natural and go somewhere meaningful. That's what shifts when we work together. You don't need to become a different person. You just need better tools, a bit of practice, and the right spaces to try them.
-
I help professionals and organisations have conversations that go beyond the surface — the kind that build real trust, open unexpected doors, and create the clarity you need to move forward. That looks different depending on where you are: it might be a workshop, a facilitated event, 1:1 mentoring, or a speaking engagement. But the through-line is always the same: creating conversations and connections to create better outcomes.
-
It's deliberately different. This isn't about scripts, systems, or performing a version of yourself you don't recognise. My work starts from the belief that you already have more to offer than you think — the gap is usually in being able to see and reach the conversations that are already around you. We work on that together: with curiosity, not a formula.
