Catalyst

A community where conversations count

“Find your people. Start your ripple.”- Kerryn Powell

A woman with blonde hair and glasses smiling, talking with three other people in a group conversation.

There's a particular kind of conversation that stays with you long after the room empties.

The one where someone just got it. Got you, got what you're trying to do, got what matters.

My Catalyst Community is built for those moments. Not an events calendar. Not a feed to scroll. A community where the right people find each other.

Online. Intentional. Open to men and women, wherever they are.

An intentional  community, and built around the belief that better conversations create better outcomes.

The opportunity isn't missing. The conversation just hasn't happened yet.

The Belief behind Catalyst

A catalyst creates change quietly, consistently, and with intention.

Through the moment when two people find each other and something shifts, an idea unsticks, a door opens, a perspective changes.

Most of us have felt it. The conversation that stayed with us long after the room emptied. The person we almost didn't meet. The question that opened something we didn't know was closed.

The Catalyst Community is built to make those moments less accidental.

Come inside and discover some of what “Catalyst” can offer you

Who is this for?

People who walk into a room wondering what they can contribute, not what they can collect.

You might call yourself a changemaker, a problem solver, or a community builder.

You might not use any of those words but recognise yourself in every one of them.

How you fit in:

  • You value thoughtful conversation over transactional exchanges

  • You sense that there may be hidden opportunity around you to explore

  • You are ready to show up, contribute, and be part of something that goes somewhere

  • You like to create ripples that travel far beyond the room

A person wearing a light coat and gray pants enters a large, weathered metal door with an inscription at the top that reads 'UNIVERZITETNA' and other text partially visible. The individual carries a black tote bag.

What you will find

A curated community where conversations happen with intention.

A member listing so the people can find you and know what you stand for.

A library of resources, podcast episodes and recordings.

Dinners designed for the kind of connection that goes somewhere.

Online conversation channels to ask the question. Share the insight. Contribute your perspective.

You won't arrive to an empty room. Resources, recordings and tools are already waiting for you and added each month support you.

Kerryn Powell regularly uses a door as a metaphor for unlocking conversations. Her is an open wooden door with metal hinges and handle, to a stone church or historic building with arched window and street scene beyond

Community Values

  • Be present, respectful and purposeful.

  • Be curios and open to ideas, and perspectives.

  • Be generous. Share what we know in ways that lift others.

  • Trust. Honour confidentiality, create safety through integrity.

  • Contribute. What you offer can ripple far beyond the room.

What Catalyst isn’t

No elevator pitches.

No feed to scroll.

No pressure to perform.

Just real conversations, with real people.

This is connection with purpose. And it starts with a conversation.

Personalised 1:1 mentoring relationship with Kerryn

Each tier opens by conversation. Because who is in the room matters - and that starts before you arrive.

A note from Kerryn- Your Time Matters

Some of you know my previous business community “Your Time Matters”. While my new Catalyst Community builds on those foundations, it is also so much more.

YTM was something I'm enormously proud of as a community that brought Melbourne professionals together in for more than a decade.

Catalyst is an extension of that but with so much more to offer.

Catalyst will be both in person and online, so we can be national, and maybe even global! It’s not restricted to either gender and not limited by geographic proximity. So you can turn up when you want and how you want.

Why Catalyst

I've spent years creating connection and belonging for others. And I've come to understand, how much I need it myself. That's not a footnote to this work. It's the reason for it.

If something on this page has resonated, I'd love to hear from you. Not as a pitch. Not as a sign-up. Just as the beginning of a conversation.

What people experience when they step into the room -

I was warmly welcomed and connected with a group of interesting, intelligent people. My confidence has grown and I am able to practice communicating my value in a safe and welcoming environment."

— Harriet Lammin, Architect & business owner

"The networking opportunities that stemmed from this have been incredibly helpful. I always feel enormously energised."

— Michelle Jelleff, Director & Chair, START Foundation

I was struggling with networking — finding it uncomfortable and impersonal. Since working with Kerryn, I have gained confidence and enjoyment, and developed significant relationships that have had a positive impact both personally and professionally."

— Peter Burgess, Principal, Process Culture

These words come from Kerryn's previous community, Your Time Matters. Catalyst is built on the same foundation — and goes further.

Good questions. Here are some honest answers.

One conversation. No commitment. Just a beginning.
