Catalyst

A community where conversations count

Find your people. Start your ripple.”

-Kerryn Powell

A woman with blonde hair and glasses smiling, talking with three other people in a group conversation.

There's a particular kind of conversation that stays with you long after the room empties.

The one where someone just got it — got you, got what you're trying to do, got what matters.

Catalyst is built for more of those moments. Not an events calendar. Not a feed to scroll. A community where the right people find each other — and stay found.

Online. Intentional. Open to men and women, wherever they are.

Catalyst is not an events calendar.

It is not location-dependent.

It is not a relaunch of something that came before.

It is a community — online, intentional, and built around one belief: better conversations create better outcomes.

For men and women, wherever they are, who sense that more is possible — and who are ready to find the people who feel the same.

The opportunity isn't missing. The conversation just hasn't happened yet.

The Belief behind Catalyst

A catalyst creates change — quietly, consistently, and with intention.

Not through noise. Not through hustle. Through the moment when two people find each other and something shifts — an idea unsticks, a door opens, a perspective changes everything.

Most of us have felt it. The conversation that stayed with us long after the room emptied. The person we almost didn't meet. The question that opened something we didn't know was closed.

Catalyst is built to make those moments less accidental.

Who is this for?

You walk into a room wondering what you can contribute — not what you can collect.

You might call yourself a changemaker, a problem solver, or a community builder. Or you might not use any of those words — and still recognise yourself in every one of them.

You're in the right place if:

—    You value thoughtful conversation over transactional exchange

—    You sense more opportunity around you than you're currently accessing

—    You want connection with people who care about ideas and impact

—    You are ready to show up, contribute, and be part of something that goes somewhere

—    You believe that what you offer can create a ripple far beyond the room

If you read that and felt something shift — that's your answer.

A person in a long beige coat, gray pants, and white sneakers is entering a large, greenish bronze door with the word 'UNIVERZITETNA' inscribed above it. The person carries a large gray backpack.

What you will find

This is a curated community where conversations happen with intention — not a feed to scroll, but a community to genuinely belong to.

A member listing so the right people can find you and know what you stand for.

A growing library of resources, podcast episodes and recordings — some included with your membership, others available to purchase when you need them. Curated because conversation sits at the heart of every one.

Community conversations - ask the question. Share the insight. Contribute your perspective.

Opportunities to access dinners and conversation count sessions - designed for the kind of connection that actually goes somewhere.

You won't arrive to an empty room. Resources, recordings and tools are already waiting for you and more will be added as the community grows. and we know the best resources to support you.

Kerryn Powell regularly uses a door as a metaphor for unlocking conversations. Her is an open wooden door with metal hinges and handle, to a stone church or historic building with arched window and street scene beyond

Community Values

These aren't rules. They're how we choose to be here.

  • Thoughtful conversation — present, purposeful, respectful

  • Curiosity — open to ideas, and perspectives

  • Generosity — sharing what we know in ways that lift others

  • Trust — honouring confidentiality, creating safety through integrity

  • Contribution — believing that what we offer can ripple far beyond the room.

What Catalyst is — and what it isn’t

No elevator pitches. No rooms to leave unchanged. No feed to scroll.

Catalyst is an online community with real-world connection woven through it. Open to men and women — across Australia and beyond. Curated by conversation, not credit card.

This is connection with purpose. And it starts with a conversation.

Catalyst Connect — where it deepens

Coming as community grows

A closer circle. Deeper relationships, richer conversations, greater connection with purpose — and more that will take shape as the community does.

Catalyst Impact — where it goes further still

Coming as community grows

A personalised 1:1 mentoring relationship with Kerryn, alongside deep community connection.

Each tier opens by conversation. Because who is in the room matters — and that starts before you arrive.

A note from Kerryn

Some of you knew Your Time Matters.

This is not that.

YTM was something I'm enormously proud of — a community that brought people together in Melbourne for more than a decade, in rooms that changed things for the people in them.

Catalyst is what I've been thinking about ever since. Online. National. For men and women - not defined by geography or how often you can show up to an event.

Built from everything I have learned. And from something I came to understand about myself:

I needed it too.

I've spent years creating connection and belonging for others. And I've come to understand, sometimes the hard way, how much I need it myself. That's not a footnote to this work. It's the reason for it.

If something on this page has resonated — if you recognised yourself somewhere in these words — I'd love to hear from you. Not as a pitch. Not as a sign-up. Just as the beginning of a conversation.

What people experience when they step into the room -

I was warmly welcomed and connected with a group of interesting, intelligent people. My confidence has grown and I am able to practice communicating my value in a safe and welcoming environment."

— Harriet Lammin, Architect & business owner

"The networking opportunities that stemmed from this have been incredibly helpful. I always feel enormously energised."

— Michelle Jelleff, Director & Chair, START Foundation

I was struggling with networking — finding it uncomfortable and impersonal. Since working with Kerryn, I have gained confidence and enjoyment, and developed significant relationships that have had a positive impact both personally and professionally."

— Peter Burgess, Principal, Process Culture

These words come from Kerryn's previous community, Your Time Matters. Catalyst is built on the same foundation — and goes further.

Good questions. Here are some honest answers.

  • Catalyst attracts people who are already capable and credible — professionals, leaders, academics, business owners and changemakers who know that the best thinking doesn't happen alone. What they share isn't a job title. It's a belief that better conversations lead to better outcomes, that fresh perspectives expand what's possible, and a genuine desire to contribute, not just consume.

  • Your initial membership runs through to 31 December 2026 — one payment, one decision, and then you get to see what becomes possible. Think of it as trying it for the rest of the year. You'll have plenty of notice before 2027 about your options.

  • We have a conversation — a real one, not a sales call. I want to understand what you're looking for and whether Catalyst is the right fit. And I'd love to show you around the community while we're talking.

Start the Conversation

These three questions aren't an application. There are no right or wrong answers. They're simply an invitation to arrive already thinking.

  • What sparked your interest in Catalyst?

  • What kind of impact are you looking to create — in your work, your community, or beyond?

  • How would you describe yourself, in your own words?

One conversation. No commitment. Just a beginning.
